Painted Outdoor Rug with Quatrefoil Design

What’s a girl to do when she can’t spend hundreds on a pretty, patterned rug for her front porch? Paint one of course! Check out how Gina of The Shabby Creek Cottage transformed this $20 Wal-mart rug into a statement-making piece for her porch. The ever resourceful Gina made the quatrefoil stencil all be herself using a cereal bowl and a piece of cardboard, traced it onto the rug with chalk, and then went over it with paint. Easy peasy and cheap to boot!

DIY Antiqued Christmas Mirror with Text

With Halloween officially behind us, it’s time to bring on the Christmas projects. I mean if Big Lots and Kmart can show Christmas commercials, we can definitely get our Christmas craft on, right? Speaking of Christmas projects, my dear friend Jen from Tatertots & Jello has already created a couple of amazing ones! I am just loving this mirror she made for the holidays by distressing it and then adding some vinyl. I’d take it hands-down over her Pottery Barn inspiration, and it was less than one-third the cost.
