Pom Pom Wreath

I am totally digging all the alternatives to the traditional Christmas wreath that have been floating around. This fluffy yarn wreath made by Aimee from It’s Overflowing takes the cake! I love all the texture, and literally all you need is some yarn and a wreath form. I honestly think Aimee’s wreath is waaay better than its $128 Anthropologie counterpart.

Jeweled Christmas Tree

When Gail from Purple Hues and Me saw a lovely little Christmas tree made from brooches, she knew it would be a perfect way to display jewelry pieces she had accumulated from her loved ones. Gail pieced together large and small pieces to cover a Styrofoam tree and finished it off with glittery sparkle. The sentimental meaning behind Gail’s tree makes it all the more beautiful!

Pom Pom Ornaments

Jen from Librarian Tells All has been on a mission to recreate West Elm’s ornament collection, and her latest and greatest is a fluffy and fun pom pom. For the price of one ornament from West Elm, you can make five, ten, or even twenty-five of Jen’s wallet-friendly version. As Jen points out, this is a great way to burn through some yarn if you’ve got a healthy supply.

Santa Pallet Art

Last year Matt and Jacque from The DIY Village created this Santa art from repurposed deck boards for a pallet art look. Matt did a phenomenal job tracing the original image on the computer to create a stencil, and then a little red paint brought Saint Nick to life. As Matt points out, any canvas or wood would be a great backdrop for creating your own piece of inexpensive Christmas art.

Poinsettia Tree Skirt

Gail from Purple Hues and Me was truly inspired by a lovely white poinsettia stocking made by Yvonne of StoneGable. When she later stumbled upon an expensive poinsettia tree skirt in Neiman Marcus’ Christmas collection, she knew Yvonne’s tutorial was the ticket to creating her own. I can only imagine it was crazy tedious to cut out all those petals, but the outcome sure is beautiful!
