Rollaway Toy Storage Crate
Now that the presents have all been unwrapped are you wondering where you are going to store them all??? Desiree from Camelot Art Creations made this rolling storage bin to corral all the toys that threaten to take over her living area each day. The beauty of this piece is that it allows her children to be accountable for cleaning up themselves since it requires simply throwing the toys into the crate. Desiree built her crate for free using pallet wood, but if building’s not your thing, you could also doctor up an unfinished crate from the craft store.
Antique Factory Cart Table
Shawna from Dakota Creek Chic found an antique factory cart at a local antique store and knew she could build her own version of the Restoration Hardware table that was out of her budget at 1000 bucks. Shawna used Ana White’s plans as a rough guide but was fortunate to already have the cart (that happened to have awesome casters) to use as a base. Here’s what Shawna has to say about her third big project: “This was an easy build, taking only one afternoon to finish. It’s so worth it, and I just love how it turned out. Underbed Rolling Magazine Basket
Magazine-lover Samantha from Simply Organized needed a solution for her “magazine hoarding issue.” She found some rolling underbed baskets that would be perfect for wrangling her overflowing pile of magazines and catalogs, but could she DIY? That she did by adding casters to baskets purchased from Michaels. Samantha says, “I love my new magazine baskets! If you have the same hoarding issue, I hope this little organization project inspires you to create your own storage and save a little money.”
Blue Upholstered Bench with Casters
In my earlier feature of Sarah M Dorsey Design’s painted curtains, you may have noticed the beautiful blue bench situated below the window. That beauty just happens to be another knock-off created by the very talented Sarah. Sarah built the bench frame and then upholstered it and added special details like turned legs and casters. Sarah says she saved on some of her materials and splurged on others to create her bench for around $100. I am so impressed by her mad skills!
