Giant Wall Clock Inspired by High-End Decor

Myra from Curb Alert Blog crafted an impressive DIY giant wall clock inspired by high-end decor (of course!).

She began with a 42-inch circle cut from lightweight plywood, ensuring safety for wall mounting above a bed.

To mimic the look of planked wood, Mrya stained the surface with Minwax Early American and used a Dremel tool to carve 4-inch faux plank lines.

The finish was achieved through sanding, painting, dry brushing, and whitewashing, giving the piece a rustic, aged appearance.

For the clock face, Myra selected a font, traced Roman numerals (I, V, X), and applied black acrylic paint, buffing it to achieve the desired effect.

She crafted the clock hands from wood using a jigsaw, then spray-painted them metallic silver and added black and dark wax for a metal-like finish.

The final piece, displayed on her mantel, showcases the blend of creativity and resourcefulness, as most materials were on hand, keeping costs minimal.

Myra’s project demonstrates how thoughtful design and DIY skills can replicate high-end decor without the hefty price tag.
