Perfect Fit Wood and Metal Console Table

Shayna of The Wood Grain Cottage combined two of her favorite elements, wood and metal, to create the perfect console table for her laundry room. She drew up the plans so the table would fit her narrow laundry room just right and then let her welder hubs go to work on the metal frame. Shayna got the honors of roughing up the thick wood top and finishing both pieces. Here’s what Shayna says about her new table: “I am totally smitten. I walk by just to stare at it. WE made this! A-mazing!”

Trunk Coffee Table

It’s impossible not to be inspired by talented ladies like Ashley and Whitney from Shanty 2 Chic, who are skilled with power tools and have stocked their homes with gorgeous furniture pieces that they built. Just look at this trunk-style coffee table that Whitney recently built following plans from Ana White! It’s pretty, budget friendly, and, best of all, easy to make! Whitney even says it’s a great beginner building project for those who have been on the fence. Time to get building!

Divided Wood and Metal Lazy Susan

Jaime from That’s My Letter is back again with another catalog-inspired project that is sure to knock you socks off! Jaime turned a large cake pan into a divided lazy Susan that offers the “perfect mix of warm wood and shiny metal.” The generous size of the pan allows plenty of room for utensils, napkins, and anything else you might need for an outdoor BBQ. Between her mini croquet mallet food labels and this lazy Susan, I’d say Jaime is all set for some summer entertaining!

Tissue Paper Flowers

This time of year I simply can’t get enough flowers. However, as much I love the look and scent of fresh flowers, I can’t justify spending lots of money on something that will end up in the garbage in a few days. DeDe from Designed Décor offers a budget-friendly solution with her tissue paper cherry blossoms. DeDe created her blooms from tissue paper and then hot glued them onto branches. It is amazing how real they look!

Pieced Wood Artwork

Melissa of This Girl’s Life recreated a piece of woodwork art she liked from Pottery Barn to better fit her budget and color-scheme. Melissa knew it was going to be an easy DIY (since it’s literally just pieces of wood!) and had the entire piece of artwork completed in less than a day. Even purchasing all the wood for the project, Melissa still spent only what it would have cost in taxes had she purchased directly from Pottery Barn. You could save even more if you’ve got wood scraps stored away!
