Multi-Purpose Kids Play Stand

It’s a grocery store… No, wait, it’s a lemonade stand… How about a post office? This play stand made by Jaime from That’s My Letter is so versatile I cannot possibly list all its uses. Jaime built the stand using plans from Ana White and then created interchangeable buntings and signs so the stand can quickly and easily change functions. You have to check out all Jaime’s pics because they are too stinkin’ cute! LOVE!

Personalized Transportation Wall Art

Abby from Just a Girl and Her Blog is currently giving her boys’ room a makeover, and they needed art! Abby says she’s too cheap to buy “real” art and knows she can get exactly what she wants through DIY. Abby found a Land of Nod piece that provided awesome inspiration and made her own with basically a stack of scrapbook paper and scissors. I love what Abby says about creating this artwork for her boys: “One of the reasons I love projects like this, though, is that even though it’s not perfect, I was able to give my boys a fun, unique piece of art for their room that they will always know was a gift to them from mommy. There’s something really satisfying about putting your own personal touch on a space, especially when it’s for someone you love!” SO true!!!

Sew Your Own Kids Floor Cushions

After sharing Charlotte’s handmade pouf this morning, I wanted to give Susan from Living with Punks another moment in the spotlight. I featured the floor cushions she created for her wee ones almost three years ago when KOD was just a baby. Oh me oh my… her fabric choices simply blow the inspiration right out of the water!

Easy as 1, 2, 3 Numbers Floor Pouf

Charlotte from Ciburbanity recently participated in a contest where she was challenged to create a sewing project using fabric from Waverly. Since she doesn’t consider herself a skilled seamstress, Charlotte knew a copycat project was the way to go and found an adorable numeric pouf for inspiration. She combined her lovely blue floral fabric with canvas drop cloth to put a fun twist on Land of Nod’s comfy math cushion.

Keep Toys Tidy with Cube Bookshelves

With a generously-sized closet and no need for a dresser, Hillary from The Friendly Home had plenty of space for furniture in her daughter’s bedroom. She already had a set of bookcases. Unfortunately, they happened to be “cheap, ugly, and “not very sturdy” bookcases that Hillary was more than eager to replace. She said goodbye to the laminate shelving and built a pair of solid wood cubby shelves following plans from Ana White. Hillary loves how the cube design keeps book standing up and allows for hidden storage so everything looks neat and tidy.
