There’s a whole lot to love about West Elm’s Hive Vases with their honeycomb pattern and distressed finish. Brandi from Blue Cedar Lane had been eyeing these lovelies for awhile and just so happened to spot a vase with similar honeycomb detail at Goodwill. Armed with spray paint and sandpaper, she gave the vase a hive-inspired makeover that really brought out all the detail. What a great technique for giving a new look to an old vase!

Kathy from The Budget Decorator gave a dollar store vase the easiest makeover known to man – with hot glue! Kathy simply turned her vase while putting lines of hot glue around it to create texture. This is the perfect pick-me-up for any plain glass candle holder, vase, etc. Kathy has plenty to be proud of with this vase. Ever since Vidya from What’s Ur Home Story used air dry clay on another project she’d been thinking of recreating the Anthropologie Chrysanthemum Vase. While making the flowers from clay did take some practice, Vidya says it was well worth the effort.
