While searching for inspiration for her master bedroom makeover, Kayla of Home Coming came across a gorgeous focal wall created by an upholstered panel headboard that extended beyond the edges of the bed. She loved how it made a bold statement in a “classic and clean way.” Kayla worked alongside her husband Justin to create a similar effect in their bedroom by wrapping pieces of MDF with batting and fabric. It only took the couple $115 and a few hours to create this lovely focal point in their room.

Melissa of Two It Yourself says the most rewarding part of the master bedroom makeover she completed last year was the DIY upholstered headboard she made with the help of her sister Stephanie. Amazingly, the sisters were about to pull together this beautiful king-sized bed in only five hours and for close to $150.
