Chris of Just a Girl had been drooling over some beveled-edge mirrors from Pottery Barn for what felt like years. She says, “They sparkle and glitz like the stars in heaven, and I’ve wanted them to be mine for a long time.” Chris’ torment over the dreamy mirrors finally ended when she found a pair of mirrors on clearance at Hobby Lobby that needed a little love. Chris did a quick fix by switching out the front panels and now has her own sparkly and glitzy mirrors for a fraction of the cost!

After trying to freshen up an old mirror with paint, Katie from Upcycled Treasures still felt it was missing a little something. It was then that Katie stumbled upon a couple of rope mirrors that inspired her to act on her love for nautical décor. Katie hot glued manila around the twice-painted mirror frame and then added thinner rope threads at the top to cover the pesky seam where the rope ends met. Funny that Katie’s unplanned addition of the rope at the top is actually my favorite part of the mirror!

When Kirklands contacted Tricia from Little Cottage on the Pond about doing a "look for less" post featuring one of their items, she was all in! She picked a mirror with an almost identical architectural style to one she’d been eyeing from Restoration Hardware. While the style was spot-on, the finish left a lot to be desired. But Tricia knew what she could do with a little “paint magic.”  Tricia used RH paint from a sample pot, then whitewashed it, and added dark wax to get that RH signature look.

You all know I have about of a love affair with stenciling. With the endless design options and potential for taking the ordinary to extraordinary, there’s a lot to love. One thing I am yet to try stenciling is a mirror, but Beth from Free Stylin’ does a fabulous job showing how it’s done. She used a large stencil to transform a cheapo door mirror into a stunning decorative piece. Amazingly, the pattern is almost identical to her Ballard inspiration!
