If you love the silvery look of mercury glass, you will be relieved to know that you don’t have to pay big bucks for the real deal. Like Jennifer from Decorated Chaos shows, a spray bottle of vinegar and water and Krylon’s Looking Glass spray paint are all you need to pull off the same finish. Jennifer used this technique to turn a glass lamp from the thrift store into this beauty!

There is no question that Donna of Funky Junk Interiors lives up to her blog’s name. She has an amazing knack for taking legitimate junk and making it funky and fun and just plain awesome! With the help of an artist/welding friend, Donna created this crazy cool, functioning lamp out of a collection of metal odds and ends. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a lamp with more character. Donna says it’s perfect for her “junk inspired home!”

I can’t help but get excited when I come across a knock-off that’s totally unique and fun, and this lamp from Jessica at Mad In Crafts is all that and more! Jessica designed her “steampunk-style, industrial accent lamp” using a secondhand bell jar from Goodwill and metal odds and ends from her local Habitat for Humanity ReStore. She spent only $20 on materials, which is a far cry from the $1298 price tag of her inspiration!

Even a cross-country move cannot squelch the design and DIY savvy of Sarah from Sarah M. Dorsey. The girl is uber talented! Sarah busted just enough of her tools out of boxes to create this modern tripod floor lamp from copper piping. DIYing an entire lamp may sound challenging, but believe me when I say that Sarah’s tutorial makes it as easy as pie!

As soon as Jessica from Fit and Crafty saw a beautiful stacked base lamp on Pinterest, she was in love! Unfortunately, the link led her straight to a $600 price tag, which was much too pricey for her budget. That just meant a DIY was in order, which wasn’t a problem for Jessica who had tackled lamp sockets in the past. Jessica tracked down some free firewood on Craigslist, sliced up the logs, and turned them into a set of stylish lamps.

Megan from Homemade Ginger had been looking for a solid set of table lamps for her office desk but didn't want to spend much money. After diligently looking at thrift stores for months, she found a set of honeycomb lamps that needed some TLC. With some spray paint, a little tweaking, and a modern lamp shade, these lamps look like new ones worth hundreds of dollars!

Angie of Angie’s Roost wanted to add a pair of task lamps to her work area, but the West Elm ones she was eyeing were too tall and, not surprisingly, too expensive. She found a shorter, more budget-friendly version at Target; however, they didn’t offer the bold color choices that Angie found appealing. That’s nothing a can of spray paint couldn’t fix! Angie gave her lamps a paint job “a la West Elm” and says the hardest part of the project was deciding on a color.
