Bridgett from Osie Moats is not a fan of plastic laundry baskets since they usually end up broken after being used as stools by her boys. Elisha from Pneumatic Addict Furniture was recently inspired to build this industrial steel-frame coffee table using her newly-learned welding skills. Through DIY Elisha was able to save money and make some of her own changes, like using oversized casters, choosing a deeper shade of wood stain, and adding carriage bolts to the tabletop for interest. Elisha says this is her favorite furniture build to date, and I can most definitely see why!

After attempting to recover an ottoman that she received from her sister, Jen from The Yellow Brick Cottage nearly gave up and threw it through the window. However, a search on several of her favorite furniture sites turned up an ottoman that Jen knew she could recreate and add her own style and personal touches to. I admire Jen's ability to adapt and switch gears when her original plan was not panning out. Now that the presents have all been unwrapped are you wondering where you are going to store them all??? Desiree from Camelot Art Creations made this rolling storage bin to corral all the toys that threaten to take over her living area each day. The beauty of this piece is that it allows her children to be accountable for cleaning up themselves since it requires simply throwing the toys into the crate. Desiree built her crate for free using pallet wood, but if building's not your thing, you could also doctor up an unfinished crate from the craft store.
