Patterned Mercury Glass Vase

March 22, 2013 By Beckie

After her daughter’s wedding, Jeanie from Create and Babble found herself with several clear glass vases on hand. She decided it was time she jumped on the mercury glass train and grabbed her can of Looking Glass spray paint. Now we’ve all seen this done a time or two, but I love how Jeanie took it a step further by creating a pattern on the glass with glue. You’ll have to pop over to her site to see exactly how she did it!

Jeanie was inspired by the Footed Mercury Glass Vase from Pottery Barn.

I’ve seen so much mercury glass and loved the extra twist with the pattern!

Very unique! I love it! I wonder if you could do something similar with a puff paint? And then spray paint over the puff paint to get the texture? I’m new to this DIY business. Do you think that would work?

Sure, you could use puff paint. However, it’s not very forgiving to work with so I’d test my hand first to make sure it’s steady.
