I’d like to welcome back Jill, a knock off enthusiast who doesn’t have a blog but wanted to share some of her work with KOD readers. Earlier today I shared DIY wall art Jill created from a pallet, and now I’m excited to show you a cabinet she scored for a major bargain and revamped with a Pottery Barn spin. Here’s from Jill:
I loved the Pottery Barn lockers, but there was no way I could afford them at $599 per locker. I found this cabinet at an auction sale for $7.
I roughed it up a bit with sand paper. Then I spray painted it with my favorite color of hammered spray paint and added some of my own touches like ‘BALZER AND COMPANY’ and the blocks of cream for the numbers. I bought metal numbers at Hobby Lobby for $2 per number and used a magnet to hold them up. I put up command hooks, and my kids use the lockers for their coats, shoes, and back packs. My total cost was $20 in paint (5 cans – two for the interior and 3 for the exterior) plus $7 for the cabinet and about $12 for the command hooks. That’s a grand total of $39 for a one-of-a-kind and, in my opinion, just as cool piece as the $1100 Pottery Barn lockers!
Jill was inspired by Pottery Barn’s Build You Own Entryway Lockers.
Nice work, Jill! Thanks so much for sharing!
