A Creative Defense: How to Hide Your Security Indoors

4:00 AM By Julia Carlisle

You want security in your homes without others knowing your home is secure.

How can you protect your possessions, family members, and self without taking the proper precautions?

A simple way to ensure your home is safe is to hide a camera indoors. It doesn’t have to be obvious to other people, but it will give you peace of mind.

Keep reading to learn more about how to hide a security camera within your home.

Why Choose a Security Camera?

A lot of renters and homeowners think that security cameras are either too expensive or too difficult to use. The good news is that neither of these beliefs are necessarily true all the time!

The different models and types of security cameras have different features, so you can choose what you need and leave out what you don’t.

For example, ADT Cameras can be wired or wireless and they will record what happens so you can watch it back later. They also come in different types, like dome or bullet cameras.

The main reason that people want security cameras is to feel safe in their homes. Our expectation is that our homes will shelter us, but we also know that bad things happen in the world.

Give yourself the ability to be comfortable and happy in your home without worry by choosing a home security camera.

How to Hide a Security Camera: Options

If everyone can see your security cameras and where they are hooked up, they probably won’t be much use to you. The reason for this is that criminals could just avoid the eye of the camera and nothing would be captured to review!

The first thing to do is find the most vulnerable areas of the home. These are the locations that would be most likely used by criminals. Be sure that the lighting is enough to be able to see what the camera records!

If you have a large entertainment center or shelving unit with cubbies, you may be able to hide your camera amongst other trinkets. It makes it less obvious when a bunch of other stuff surrounds it.

Examples of other things to hide your camera inside would be:

  • A facial tissue box
  • A bookcase with a few books
  • Potted plants
  • A toy or figurine
  • Wall clocks
  • Curtain rods
  • A plush toy
  • A wall outlet
  • Photo frames

The point is to place it somewhere that it can easily pick up on activity, but won’t be obvious when you look around the room. That is the way to know if you chose a good spot for your hidden spy camera!

Get Your Camera Hooked Up
