DIY activities are so much fun because they allow you to not only become creative but to explore your creative side as well.
These activities can be done by people of any age and even by whole families that are looking to spend some quality time together.
Furthermore, DIYs are inexpensive; if you wish to purchase an item, rather than make it via DIY, it can be a bit on the costly side. Let’s look at 4 DIY projects that everyone can do.
1. Corkboard Walls
We’ve all seen bulletin boards and know how handy they can be when it comes to attaching or hanging items like notes and pictures.
We can make our own so-called ‘bulletin board’ at home with the help of a cork roll to make corkboard walls.
It up to you to decide which size you prefer; you can choose a similar to that of an average bulletin board, or you can choose to apply it to an entire wall.
To get this done, take help from an adult to cut out the cork roll according to the length you want it and then applying that to the wall by the aid of wooden studs.
2. Pebble Coasters
Furniture can be expensive. If you style your home with costly tables then we’re sure that the sight of stains or deterioration caused by heat would disappoint you.
This is where you would need a coaster to help prevent stains and heat from transferring from any hot vessel to the furniture.
Coasters of different types can be purchased from the market, but you can make your own at home too.
Take a hot glue gun and attach pebbles to the surface of circular felts or a wood-based platform.
That’s all you need to make customized coasters onto which you can place hot cups, mugs and even bowls.
3. Pencil Organizers
We know where to go when we need to get pencil organizers, but why should we waste money on transportation and items that we can easily recreate at home?
Instead of discarding the cylindrical cardboard that is leftover after the toilet roll is finished, take a gift wrap paper and use glue to paste it around the body of the tube.
Next, take a circular piece of cardboard and attach it one end of the tube and cut out any excess.
Who would have thought that making pencil organizers would be this easy?
4. Granite Coasters
This DIY on our list makes a great present. Coasters are essential in protecting furniture from stains and heat from hot cups, mugs and bowls.
This is something we all need in our homes to protect our other belongs.
To create granite coasters, all you need is are white tiles, permanent markers and alcohol. First, scribble randomly on each tile one at a time.
Then add alcohol to allow the colors to move around. Followed by burning the tile.
Once the first round is extinguished, use a spray bottle to spritz some alcohol on the tile and then burn it one last time. Voila – you have yourself colorful granite coasters.
