Sometimes we need to re-make a piece of furniture to suit our needs. Marie of theinteriorfrugalista did just that with a plain, bare-bones cabinet. She wanted to create a storage cabinet for her collection of CDs and found it hard to find one in this day and age that would suit her so she repurposed a store bought cabinet and created a unique piece that reflects her sense of style.
Marie starts by giving us a complete list of supplies for this project. She began by adding a plywood top and base as well as legs to give the piece some substance and help to make it look more like a piece of furniture rather than a plain no-frills cabinet. She then painted the entire cabinet with a soft white chalk paint and used her sander to give it a softly distressed look. Next, small label pulls were affixed to little plaques and added to the drawers.
Finally, a decoupaged top finishes off the piece.
