Many little girls are still beaming with joy over the beloved dolls they received for Christmas. Wouldn’t they go gaga over having a special bed just for those dolls? Jaime at That’s My Letter teamed up with Ana White to build this adorable doll-size bunk bed complete with a slatted design and cushioned mattress and bedding. How sweet is this?!?
Larissa from The House on Harrison was over shoes strewn about the floor in her entryway, and Ana White equipped her with the project plans to tame the mess with a shoe cabinet. Have you seen one of these before? A beautiful console on the outside and shoe storage galore on the inside! You’ve got to check out the tilt out compartments to truly appreciate how cool this piece is!
Has the beauty of “x” design furniture caught your eye like it did Beth’s from Home Stories A to Z? All the tables, consoles, and benches swirling around propelled Beth into the action of building her own lovely ottoman with an upholstered top and nailhead trim. Beth says, “I love how it turned out! It’s a little farmhouse and a little glam–just the way I like it!”
The girls from Shanty 2 Chic are such an inspiration when it comes to knockoff furniture pieces and totally make me want to hone my woodworking skills! Just check out this awesome library-style coffee table Ashley built with plans from Ana White. The generous tabletop and drawer storage makes it ideal for both decorating and daily use.
Slowly but surely I have tackled a couple of of build-from-scratch projects to increase my woodworking skills and confidence. It’s when I stumble upon projects like this bar from Jen at House of Wood that I am really wishing I could make the jump to expert builder over night. Jen worked with Ana White for her printer’s style bar that includes shelving, a hanging stemware rack, and built-in wine grid behind those beautiful faux drawer fronts. All I can say is that I am in awe of Jen’s skills!
This summer Whitney from Shanty 2 Chic built a beautiful outdoor dining table with plenty of style and space for her family of seven. It kind of goes without saying that seating is an important counterpart to a table. Whitney solved that problem by building two benches with plans by Ana White that share the same fancy X design as her table. I am still blown away by the fact that the table AND both benches came in under $140!
In order to keep her son from digging around in the dirt and mulch, Kristen from Lipstick and Sawdust built a sandbox where he could dig to his heart’s content. She followed plans that Gina from Lady Goats was kind enough to share at Ana White. The coolest thing about Kristen’s build is the bench seats convert to a lid to keep the sand clear of critters and other yuckiness. You’ve got to watch the video of Kristen’s kids closing it up to see how awesome (and easy) it is!
If you love the idea of creating beautiful mantelscapes but have no mantel to call your own, Jeanette from Homa Style offers a great solution with her faux mantel. Jeanette loves creating items with scrap trim and was thrilled to step up her game with this mantel for her master bedroom. Amazingly, you do not have to be a woodworking connoisseur to build your own. Jeanette says, “Anyone with basic woodworking skills can build one, I promise.”
