You may remember the DIY potting bench I shared a few weeks ago that marked Susan from Between Naps on the Porch’s debut in the world of woodworking. Well, Susan is back with another build – a cubby organizer that she built for her office following plans from Ana White. Susan encountered a few bumps along the way and shares everything she learned for those of you who want to build your own. With a savings of over $100 from the Pottery Barn inspiration, Susan says she can “see why this building stuff is so addictive!”

Teen Memo Board

PB Teen once sold a cute wall organization system that could be customized to suit your young scholar’s needs. It’s no longer available, but would you really have dropped hundreds (no joke… hundreds) on the wall tiles anyway? Judy from DIY by Design created her own by wrapping corkboard tiles in fabric and then inserting them into a frame. Judy’s DIY version is every bit as cute and customizable as PB’s without the cost!

Burlap Wall Organizer

For Tammy at A Walk in the Countryside this burlap memo board consumed her thoughts day and night until its completion. You know… it was one of those projects where things just don’t go as planned. However, in the end, Tammy came out the victor in her battle against the burlap. With the adjustable rod and cute burlap pouch, I think Tammy totally nailed the look of her inspiration!

Driftwood Wall Organizers

Susan from Homeroad created her own wall organization system from weathered driftwood and old metal calendars. One calendar became a chalkboard and the other a chicken wire clipboard. I love the rustic look Susan achieved with her repurposed materials, and the wire hooks that link them together are too cute!

After a little room rearranging, Amy at Just Pleased as Punch and her daughter decided some decorative tweaking was in order. Out with the old (Bye bye, Hannah Montana!) and in with the new! The transformation  included creating a new bulletin board to fill an empty spot above the desk. Amy dressed up a Goodwill […Read More]

Burlap Pinboard with Sliding Chalkboard

Most of us would agree that we could be at least a little (or a whole lot) more organized. Messaging centers are great ways to keep all your ducks in a row, and they’ve come a long way in the style department from the basic bulletin board. Kit from Diydiva shares a fairly simple tutorial […Read More]

Wall Organizational System

Heather from Four Loud Monkeys loves organizing and has lots of it to do with four little (and loud) monkeys running around the house. To help manage her family, she created a wall organization system complete with chalkboards, ribbon boards, and hanging pockets. Say goodbye to lost papers and haphazard stacks on the counter! (Surely […Read More]

Burlap Pinboard Wall Organizer

It all started with an empty Starbucks Via carton, which Johnnie from Saved By Love Creations planned to upcycle into a wall pocket. She stumbled upon a burlap-backed wall organizer from Pottery Barn and knew she could create it for well less than its $198 price tag. Johnnie’s is almost identical to her inspiration, from […Read More]
