Wood Buffet Table

Pam from Our Adventures in Home Improvement has been blessed with a husband who can build just about anything. Each Christmas he likes to make her a piece of furniture, and 2012 found them in need of table for behind the couch. Pam and her handy hubs modified the design for a buffet from Pottery Barn that provides plenty of storage for extra dishes and such. I can only dream of being able to build a piece of furniture like this!

Printer’s Style Bar

Slowly but surely I have tackled a couple of of build-from-scratch projects to increase my woodworking skills and confidence. It’s when I stumble upon projects like this bar from Jen at House of Wood that I am really wishing I could make the jump to expert builder over night. Jen worked with Ana White for her printer’s style bar that includes shelving, a hanging stemware rack, and built-in wine grid behind those beautiful faux drawer fronts. All I can say is that I am in awe of Jen’s skills!

Hillary from The Friendly Home joined forces with Ana White to fill a large space in her friend’s dining room with this rustic sideboard. Just as Hillary hoped, the piece is full of character with its deep red finish and planked appearance. Needless to say, Hillary is a crazy talented builder. I am simply in awe of her skills!

I definitely would have been walking home with an extra skip in my step afterwards! Mallory sanded it down before hand-painting and distressing it to perfection. Isn’t the buffet [...Read More]

Black Buffet with Marble Top

Most of us could probably name a piece of furniture or two in our homes that has become a bit outdated. Maybe it’s not so terrible you cringe walking by it, but it’s simply not your style anymore. Before you pass it on to Goodwill, take a lesson from Becky at Organizing Made Fun. A [...Read More]

Moss Green Console Table

Bridget from Windgate Lane rose to the challenge when a friend of hers fell in love with a pricey sideboard from Ballard. After weeks of searching Craigslist (and lots of patience), she finally nabbed a deal and went to work refurbishing the piece. After all the fun stuff that goes with refinishing (aka sanding and [...Read More]
