Drop Cloth Ruffle Duvet Cover

Rachael of Lovely Crafty Home was in the market for a new duvet cover and decided to test her newly improved sewing skills and make her own. Like Rachael says, “A duvet cover is just a giant pillow, right?” She combined together a drop cloth, a cheapo sheet, and fabric from Wal-mart to make her lovely ruffled duvet cover. While this was hardly a simple project, Rachael says, “All the hard work and getting stabbed by pins totally paid off.”

Ruffled Pillowcases

I simply adore the pop of color in the turquoise thread and how it ties into Terra’s other pillow. Who would think such a little bit of thread would make such an impact!

Valentine’s Pallet Art

As shared on Infarrantly Creative, I gave my own little nod to Valentine’s Day by creating a piece of wall décor appropriate for the holiday but also versatile enough to claim a permanent home on my wall. I love the combination of the rustic pallet wood look and bright yellow ruffles. It’s completely unexpected and makes me smile every time I see it!

Ruffled Burlap Lampshade

Amy from Mom Advice put the finishing touch on her daughter’s bedroom update with a girly lampshade. Amy refabbed her daughter’s previous shade by covering it with burlap and then adding all those glorious ruffles that make it so much fun. I love the choice of the burlap with its texture and slightly frayed edges.

Here’s what she has to say: “This project was fairly simple. It just took a long time to cut, serge, ruffle, pin and sew all the layers of ruffles together. I loved how it turned out though! It was the perfect finishing touch to my new crib!”
