It’s about that time of year again when rope décor can be seen all over home décor stores and throughout catalog pages. Elissa shares at Clever how to give a lamp that much-desired nautical flair with some rope and a hot glue gun. Gail from Purple Hues and Me came across a couple of hand woven wicker lamps that really inspired her to update the somewhat “dowdy” ones she’s owned for years. Instead of woven wicker, Gail wrapped her lamp in jute twine and added bands of jute braiding and galvanized tape as accents. Gail did an awesome job combining materials and textures to achieve the look of her inspiration!

Virginia says, “The whole project took less than 30 minutes, and my little $3 thrift store lamp has been transformed into a high-style lamp you would find in any home store for about $40-$50!”
