Mable from Lilato Laka finally decided to give her son’s room some TLC after nine months of avoiding the task. A simple and timeless nautical theme rekindled her excitement to work on the space, and Mable spotted a piece of whale wall décor that she loved. She couldn’t find where to buy whale, but that was hardly a problem when Mable could make it herself. She broke out her beloved jig saw to bring the 34”x20” whale to life for a mere $12!

Hanging Rope Mirrors

Kelly from The Lily Pad Cottage has been obsessed with the rope mirrors in the Pottery Barn catalog this summer. Also loving the idea of hanging framed photo displays from old boat ropes and dock cleats, Kelly combined the two looks to make her own nautical rope mirrors for her master bedroom.  It cost Kelly about $30 to make two mirrors, a great savings from Pottery Barn’s pricey counterparts!
