Carissa of Carissa Miss finished off her son’s nursery with a set of custom shelves above the changing table. Thanks to metal brackets from IKEA and a wood board from the home improvement store she was able to do it at a fraction of the cost of her West Elm inspiration. I love the combo of the rustic wood-stained shelf and glitzy metallic brackets and can’t think of a room (or even an entryway) where these wouldn’t add style and function!
Katie from Upcycled Treasures was on the lookout for a fun organization system for her creative studio/office. She had seen pipe storage systems all over the place and LOVED how they looked and was motivated to make her own. Katie put her own spin on the project by glamming up her rods with gold spray paint to better fit her space. I love how this system allows your crafting supplies to be right there at your fingertips while still looking neat and tidy.
Since moving from a condo to a house, Jennifer from Brave New Home says she’s been enamored with anything house-related. Thus, she was inspired she create a house-shaped chalkboard clock from foam board. Amazingly, Jennifer was able to pull it off for less than $2 since she had most of the supplies on hand! Wouldn’t this make the cutest housewarming gift?
Erin from Elizabeth Joan Designs had inherited an old bench from her parents with dreams of giving it a grand makeover. Enter a new baby and cross-country move, and the bench was quickly forgotten. When Erin later found herself in need of additional seating for her daughter’s birthday, she figured it was time to give the bench the update it so desperately needed – the lazy EASY way!
There’s not much that melts a Grandma’s heart like her grandchildren, and most grandmas will go gaga for a gift personalized with their names. Last year I created this framed wall art for my mother-in-law for Mother’s Day. At Infarrantly Creative I walk you through the process to make your own custom printable using a free online program. I promise it is super quick and easy and sure to bring a smile to Grandma or Mom’s face!
I know I have shared in the past that I am a sucker for a nice long soak in the tub. Throw in a bath bomb, and I am in heaven! If your mom is anything like me, then she will adore these homemade bath bombs that Christina from Intimate Weddings made using fillable ball ornaments as molds. You could even pair them with magazines and a plush robe for a spa-inspired gift basket!
After unexpectedly losing her beloved dog, Amanda from A Lovely Place to Land took comfort in this pillow she made picturing her sweet fur baby. Amanda explains how she printed the picture directly onto fabric using freezer paper. This is a great way to display all those faces you love and would make meaningful gifts too.
