Paint Your Own Wall Art with a Projector

Maria of A Hoover-gáton is túl saw a piece of wall art on Horchow that she fell in love with instantly and had to have. To recreate the look of the paneled art, Maria bought some canvases and acrylic paint and then had Office Max print the image onto a transparency. Using an old overhead projector, Maria traced the image onto the canvases and painted it in. This was a weekend project that cost Maria only $35 compared to $800!

DIY Grapevine and Flower Wreath

A white floral jingle bell wreath caught the eye of Virginia from LiveLoveDIY back before Christmas. Even with the arrival of spring, Virginia hasn’t been able to get the wreath out of her mind. Well, she can finally stop ogling its picture since Virginia now has her own rendition, a much “sassier” spring version that flaunts tons of white blooms with glass pearls, green glitter butterflies, and mini disco balls for extra pizzazz!

Tufted Fabric Headboard with Winged Sides

Chris and Julie from DO or DIY desperately needed some pizzazz in their guest bedroom and knew the perfect solution would be a headboard that made a BIG statement. However, despite all the tutorials for DIY headboards, Chris and Julie but didn’t find anything that quite fit the mark. The couple decided to come up with their own design that combined fabric, tufts, winged sides, and nailhead trim. Julie says, “It makes just the statement we wanted in the room, accomplishing that luxurious hotel look we were going for… although I didn’t consider how it would encourage guests to never leave! The best part of this project was that it was a weekend’s worth of work that only cost us $100, compared to retail versions that ranged from $800-1500!”
