Gift-Worthy Hand Towel with Monogram

diy-monogram-towel.jpg

Isn’t it funny how a simple monogram takes something ordinary and makes it extra special? Takes these tea towels from Jeran at Oleander + Palm for example. They were just plain old striped towels. Pretty, yes, but still just plain old towels. However, after Jeran added a monogram using the freezer paper stencil technique, they are oh-so adorable and gift-worthy. I guess that’s why stores can charge more for the monogramming than the actual towel {Wink}!

Burlap Peace, Love, and Joy Pillow

Most of you know I am not much of a seasonal decorator. I know… GASP! BUT… I do love a pretty holiday pillow, and this one from Maryann at Domestically Speaking is drool-worthy. Plus, it only takes burlap and paint, which means cheap! Maryann used the “old school” freezer paper stencil method for her text, and just look at those beautiful, crisp lines. She also hand stitched her cover thanks to a broken machine, but I love how it adds to the rustic, grain sack look.

When Charisa from Madtown Macs saw West Elm’s digitally monogrammed hand towels, she immediately loved them and swooped some up as gifts. Sadly, Charisa never got one for herself and knew it was time to change that. She easily created her own modern and bold monogrammed hand towel with a freezer paper stencil and fabric paint. I am all about painting some fabric!
