Jaime from That’s My Letter made these adorable caddies from scrap wood and leftover paint. The smaller ones she created for Easter baskets and egg hunts. Her design is based loosely on Ana White’s toolbox plans. I love these and can seriously think of a million uses. Craft supplies, magazines,  diapers, toys…

Distressed Black Armoire

Natalie from Sophisticated Yellow came across an ad for Restoration Hardware’s Montpellier Armoire and fell in love with its dark, bold, and commanding look. Not surprisingly, it was also expensive. However, Natalie happened to have two old armoires sitting in her garage that looked remarkably similar. A few coats of paint later and some light sanding was all it took to transform her old armoires into Restoration Hardware’s black beauties.

Glazed Candle Holders

refabbed candlesticks

Larissa from The House on Harrison wanted some candlesticks for her master bath and found beautiful gold and white candle holders from Pottery Barn that were perfect for the space. Not surprisingly, the price was crazy, which propelled Larissa to refab some candlesticks of her own with spray paint and glaze. I think it’s amazing how Larissa’s use of glaze adds such depth and actually gives the appearance of carved stone.

Distressed Number Art

Tami from This and That from Tami gave her own twist to a popular canvas from Pottery Barn. Tami first decoupaged a board with old magazine pages before adding her numbers for a unique finish. As I share one of my latest projects from Infarrantly Creative, I realize that I have had some serious knock-off mania going on over there! This is another addition to the sports-themed big boy room I helped design for my 3-year-old nephew. Being a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan, my brother-in-law wanted to have a vintage-style [...Read More]

Distressed Wall Clock

Carrie at Dittle Dattle was inspired to create her own ginormous wall clock after spying one on a date night with hubby. The laminate top from a table that had been in the attic for years was the perfect “canvas” for the clock face. Carrie is so awesome that she cut all the numbers with [...Read More]

Painted and Distressed Candlesticks

Heather from Larissa Hill Designs transformed a set of old black candlesticks to look like some she’d spotted in a catalog. I love how she was able to change the look of the candlesticks so dramatically with just some paint. The distressing and combination of blue, cream, and gold paint really soften the look of [...Read More]
