Kids Command Center Bulletin Board

Last weekend I shared the industrial pipe curtain rod that I made for my son Isaac’s bedroom makeover. As seen on Infarrantly Creative, another project I created for the space is a bulletin board system to encourage Isaac’s responsibility in keeping track of his schedule. I love all the various tiles that make up the board. From the chalkboard to the striped clipboard to the fabric-covered cork to the magnetic rods, they all tie into the design of the room for a cohesive look. What do you think? Do you love it as much as I do?

Get Organized with a Family Command Center

diy-tile-board.jpg

With a growing family, Sarah of My Simple Obsession was in need of a command center to keep track of her family’s numerous appointments and notes. She loved one from Pottery Barn but says, “…no way would I ever pay $500 dollars or even close to that for a command center that I could make myself.  So I did! And for a fraction of that price!!” I just love Sarah’s “Pin it” corkboard tile and how she spruced up her board with fabric rosette thumbtacks and a bunting. So cute!

Teen Memo Board

PB Teen once sold a cute wall organization system that could be customized to suit your young scholar’s needs. It’s no longer available, but would you really have dropped hundreds (no joke… hundreds) on the wall tiles anyway? Judy from DIY by Design created her own by wrapping corkboard tiles in fabric and then inserting them into a frame. Judy’s DIY version is every bit as cute and customizable as PB’s without the cost!

Want a fun homemade gift idea for the holidays? Janel from Nellie Bellie created a set of quirky coasters that resemble jelly toast using cork board and nail polish. I know I’ve got a few family members and friends who would get a kick out of this practical and original gift!

Window Frame Corkboard

Morena of Morena’s Corner and contributor at Crafts Unleashed was looking for an attractive way to create a real pin board in her craft room. Pottery Barn had a beautiful chalkboard that she liked, so Morena borrowed the design as inspiration for her bulletin board. I love the window frame look and how each section could be designated to a specific purpose or member of the family for further organization.

Fabric and Ribbon Corkboards

pb inspired corkboard

Heather of Fake-It Frugal scored an awesome deal on some corkboards last summer, paying only 75 cents each! They were just your plain old basic corkboards… that is until Heather jazzed them up with fabric, ribbon and beaded trim. We can all use a little more organization in our lives, and it might as well be pretty to boot!
