Mini Chair Wreaths

Emily from Life on the V Side created a set of miniature wreaths to bring a little Christmas spirit to her chairs. All she needed was grapevine wreaths, floral wire, and some eucalyptus, which Emily preferred over the look of Ballard’s boxwood. That’s the beauty of DIY… you get just what you want without the expense, and quite honestly, I think Emily’s looks much more natural than Ballard’s rather plastic-y boxwood.

Felt Mistletoe

When West Elm sold out of felt mistletoe before November even ended, Aimee from It’s Overflowing gathered a few basic crafting supplies to recreate the holiday plant. Floral wire gave life to yarn and felt and made it super easy for Aimee to shape her mistletoe. These are adorable to hang on gifts or in hallways for extra smooches!

Stacked Glass Hurricanes

The Christmas season is officially on, and I know we are all looking for ways to bring holiday cheer to our homes. Kayla from Whatever is Lovely created a couple of pretty hurricanes a la Pottery Barn by simply stacking glass vases she already had on top of each other. It doesn’t get much easier than that, and these hurricanes are lovely for any time of the year. Simply change out the candle and filler, and you’re set!

Christmas Tree Pillow

Have I mentioned that I really like DIY pillows? Oh wait… only like a million times! So it’s no surprise that I was ohhing and ahhing over this adorable Christmas tree pillow made by Jamie from Three Scoops of Love. Not only it is pretty to look at, but Jamie added her own twist with removable “ornaments” so her kids can “trim the tree.” That special touch makes me love it all the more!

NOEL Wall Décor

After receiving lots of love for her Pottery Barn-inspired NOEL sign last Christmas, Richella from Imparting Grace shares the simple steps she took to create it. While it may not be iron like the inspiration, Richella’s pretty letters cost only $10 to make. And, quite honestly, finished with some oil-rubbed bronze paint they look just like the real deal!

Dot Christmas Tree Skirt

Jen from Beauty in Bloom replicated the look of a dot and ric-rac tree skirt to create a colorful Christmas tree last year. She used her old tree skirt as a template to sew the new skirt and then glued on her ric-rac and dots to complete the look. I love this fun, unique design and the fact that Jen saved $50 by making it herself. With all the expenses that come with the holidays, that’s much-needed money in the bank!

Jar Snow Globes

Heather from WhipperBerry shows how you can make your own winter wonderland in just a couple of minutes. Heather glued a bottle brush tree into the lid of a mason jar, poured some faux snow into the jar, put the lid on, and then shook it all up. Seriously, that’s it! I love how she […Read More]

Mini Boxwood Wreaths

I really love the simple, natural look of boxwood. It makes for a beautiful topiary and also garlands and wreath at Christmas time. Stephanie Lynn from Under the Table and Dreaming created her own mini boxwood wreaths to add to her Christmas décor. Stephanie Lynn simply used floral wire to add pieces of boxwood to […Read More]
