I just love this project from Ahna at Easier Than I Thought because it’s a true example of seeing potential and beauty where others see trash. Ahna took an ugly (and I mean UGLY) old rocker and turned it into a thing of beauty. Literally, it looks like it could be sitting right in Restoration Hardware’s catalog with its nailhead trim, gray-washed finish, and textural linen-like fabric. Kat from Basil and Chaise shares the steps to achieving that shabby chic look yourself without spending big bucks. Kat was fortunate to find a set of solid wood ladder back chairs on the side of the road that were tired and in need of a makeover. She decided to give one of her new chairs a heavily distressed look with white paint, a paint scraper, and sandpaper. Fresh fabric finished off the chair and gave it a second chance to shine!
