Etched Glass Snowflake Candle Holder

Tara from Suburble shares at Crafts Unleashed how she gave some dollar store candle holders a wintery makeover with etching cream. For one of the holders, Tara created unique snowflake stencils for each side using her Silhouette Cameo. The other features a fun candy cane-esque diagonal stripe that was easily achieved with painter’s tape. Tara says, “ Wouldn’t these votive candle holders look so sweet wrapped up in cellophane and gifted to a hostess this holiday season? Or make a pair (or a trio…) and present them as a personalized gift!”

Horse Candle Holders from Plastic Toys

Carmel from Our Fifth House has a big old love affair with equestrian-inspired décor. So it’s no question why a horse candle holder from Anthropologie caught her eye. It’s also no question why she didn’t purchase the holder for $24 when she could make TWO for only $7. Carmel says, “I’m pretty much crazy for their cuteness and having two for about $7… makes me even crazier for them!  Plus getting a fun project done in less than an hour isn’t half bad either.”

Glazed Candle Holders

Larissa from The House on Harrison wanted some candlesticks for her master bath and found beautiful gold and white candle holders from Pottery Barn that were perfect for the space. Not surprisingly, the price was crazy, which propelled Larissa to refab some candlesticks of her own with spray paint and glaze. I think it’s amazing how Larissa’s use of glaze adds such depth and actually gives the appearance of carved stone.
