Aimee from The Vintage Estate was more than willing to help out a family friend who was moving out of her farmhouse and needed to unload a few items. It only took some homemade chalk paint to transform the chest into a bench like one Aimee had been admiring from Pottery Barn.

Kristen from Lipstick and Sawdust just completed the latest addition to her “Jewel Box” guest room – an upholstered bench that she planned and built herself! Kristen saved money on materials by using foam from clearance IKEA cushions and some scrap wood pieces. I love how Kristen always finds ways to save money while still producing gorgeous results!

Reclaimed Wood Bench

As a part of her mudroom remodel, Kristen from Lipstick and Sawdust built a small bench where her kids could sit and put their shoes on. Being the resourceful gal that she is, Kristen used some old picnic table boards she found in a dumpster for the build. I love Kristen’s criss-cross design and the fact that she built this bench for FREE by using the reclaimed wood! You go, Girl!
