This knock off is honestly one of my favorite ever featured on Knock Off Decor, and it just so happens to be one of the most popular in pageviews historically.
Lydia from Pudel-Design added a graphic punch to her reading nook with this handpainted, stenciled rug.
Now, I have seen my fair share of painted rugs, but am still blown away each time I see Lydia’s.
Lydia made her own stencil, then traced it onto the entire rug, and hand painted it.
I can only imagine the tedium involved in this process, but Lydia’s results are simply astounding!
Lydia was inspired by the Tasksim Rug from West Elm.
Check out Lydia’s entire process that she shares over at Pudel-Design.

What a gorgeously put together room! For all the DIY-ers this is an awesome tutorial, but I can't resist telling you about our beautiful, 100% cotton & canvas rugs that are Made In Canada. At $69-$99 a pop, they're cheap! Come & take a look :) www.notarug.etsy.com This is of course for those of us who are having a lazy summer :D

I am so in love with the idea of making my own rug, but Ikea no longer carries the rug that everyone has been using for this project. Does anyone know of a good alternative - inexpensive and the right quality? Thanks!
