Shiny Silver Painted Seashells

Becca at From Gardners to Bergers tested various techniques to create the perfect silver seashells. We can all thank Becca for saving us time and money in experimentation! She wanted her shells to be highly reflective and super shiny. This is a subtle way to add a bit of bling to your summer décor.

Hi Becca,

Many thanks for sharing your wonderful sea shells. I have been lusting after (yes), for some time, I managed to get some relatives travelling from the US back to India to buy Rust Oleum Chrome. It doesn't look like we can buy them in India and my dear Amazon.com cannot deliver in India!

Finally after so much planning I managed to start on my sea shell chroming project. If you do have the time, can you please help me with a couple of queries? Thanks!

A) The instructions on the can says that you should keep the can moving while you are spraying. Isn't that rather tough if you are doing shells and not a wide surface object?

B) What do you use for cleaning the paint off your fingers? Along with my shells, I now have chrome fingers!

The shells are looking sweet with one thickish coat (I am totally amateurish in my spray painting skills!

Thanks so much and I look forward to hearing about your new DIY ideas.

Cheers
