Yard sales are a fun way to get your hands on some unique pieces for little to no money but sometimes they do need a little bit of a facelift. Christy at Confessions of a Serial DIYer had wooden cradle laying around that she’d picked up at a local yard sale for $2. While it was well made, Christy felt that it was rather plain and needed some sprucing up. Using some spray paint and sandpaper Christy was able to create a shabby paint finish on the cradle that she embellished using more paint and a fleur-de-lis stencil.
To give the cradle a little bit more dimension she used some yard sale fabrics and an old unlike pillow to create some bedding for her teddy bear to help model. The overall end result was a shabby sweet cradle.
Here is the cradle as Christy found it at the yard sale.
