Dana from Crafted Niche had already been pondering what a fabulous side table could be made from a large wood spool, so when she saw Ballard’s version, it was just the push she needed to give it a go. She grabbed a $5 spool and got to work sanding, staining, and sealing. With her stapler in hand, she wrapped all her rope around the spool nice and tight. Now Dana has the perfect place to rest a cup of cocoa on a cool fall night!

Love this!!!! And because I love it so much I just showed this to my husband (an electrician) and, SURPRISE, he said this is what he gets all his wire on several times a week! So he’s going to bring one home tomorrow. So if any of you know an Electrician or are gutsy enough to just call a local electrician to ask about it- Cheap is great, but Free is better!
I made one of these and it turned out BEAUTIFUL !!!! I will do it again, too…I am THAT proud of it.
