Pottery Barn Style Side Table

Patti from has an amazing tutorial on how to take an ugly thrifted table and bring it into the modern era with a beautiful Pottery Barn inspired rustic finish.

First, you have to start out with a dated table that someone marked down too low. It has to have good bones but a dated finish. Thats the key! Patti used chalk paint that she mixed herself to start the refinishing process.

She sanded it off in specific areas to get that Pottery Barn rustic look.

Remember, she didn’t sand off the original stain, so the color peeking through the black paint is that orangey stain color. With a coat of a dark wax, everything blends together and looks exactly like the Pottery Barn inspiration style.

This is the table when Patti picked it up.

This is the final product!

Take a peek at the process over at Old Things New.

That came out amazing!!! Really does give off a PB look! I like that she shortened it and cut off the 2 leaves, too.
