Most of us use open shelving to display works of art or memorabilia that is close to our hearts. Jen from jenwoodhouse created a beautiful set of shelving from pipes that have the added benefit of lighting.
In her tutorial, Jen gives us a complete list of supplies and tools needed to complete the project. Jen began by cleaning and spray painting the pipe with a gold finish paint, and she painted her wood shelves a glossy white. Jen then assembled the pipe parts and threaded the cord from the lights through the couplers that connected the pipe pieces. Her detailed photos help to illustrate exactly how the wiring was done on the set of lights she used. She also added a power strip under the bottom shelf of the fixture in order to hide the wiring of the lights.
Finally, Jen anchored the unit to the wall after first finding the studs.
