Paint an Aztec Rug with Drop Cloth

Like me, you have probably seen your fair share of painted rugs.

However, I was still blown away when I stumbled upon this “Aztec wonder” that Janel from Nellie Bellie created with a drop cloth and paint.

Yep, that’s paint, Folks! Janel cut shapes from sponges and then stamped away, building “basic design on top of basic design.”

All I can is “Wowzers!” This takes rug painting to a whole new level!

Janelle’s rug reminds me of Aztec rugs like the Aztec Support Rug from Land of Nod.
