Outdoor Inspired Milk Painted Furniture

Do you love to take old furniture and make it new again by using paint? Lisa from recreateddesigns.com found a piece of furniture in a thrift shop and with some imagination, paint, and stencils created a work of art.

Her mission was to produce a piece of furniture that would celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday. She started with an old dresser that had the good bones and height she was searching for, and then she did an extraordinary job of transforming it by using a pale green milk paint over the entire piece, and this was the backdrop for the stenciling job she did using several different green shades of milk paint.

The stencil she chose was one featuring a variety of pine trees which represented Canada’s lush forests. She purchased new hardware for the drawers and then painted it as well. The result is a unique piece of furniture that still has a vintage vibe.
