Furnishing a bedroom can be an expensive endeavor. One of the biggest pieces to buy is a dresser. Sarah from iamhardware managed to take a plain dresser she purchased from a big box store and transform it into something really beautiful.
She created a rustic look using barn wood, but almost any planks of wood will work for this project. Sarah first planed 1/4 inch from the front of the drawers of the dresser so the new wood face would be flush with the dresser frame. She then cut the front of the barn wood down to 1/4 inch and began cutting the planks to fit the size of the drawer front. After adhering the barn wood to the drawer, Sarah used a router to trim any extra edges and then sprayed the front with a clear lacquer finish.
If you choose to use any other wood for this project, it can be painted or stained to suit your decor.
