If you have a lamp that you treasure for sentimental reasons, but it happens to not really match your décor, you can still give it an update without totally destroying it. Amy from Amy Allender had run into this problem with a pair of floral lamps from her husband’s grandmother. The floral pattern wasn’t working on the lamp’s home on a hallway side-table, so Amy gave it a little makeover. By wrapping the base in rope and adding a new shade, she gave the lamp a whole new look, and she can easily remove the rope in the event that she wants to switch the lamp back to its original form.
This is Amy’s finished lamp. Would you believe it was a vintage disaster before?
