Do you have an old dresser that was handed down or donated to you or that you bought at some point in time years ago? Most of us have an old piece like that, and the beauty of many of these pieces is that it is solid wood and so sturdy, you would hate to get rid of it, but now it is outdated and doesn’t fit into your decor. If you have a treasure like this, take a look at what Cheri’s guest has created from iammommahearmeroar.
She took an old dresser and created a totally new and modern unit. Here’s how she did it. She first removed the top drawers as well as the small supports between them making a large cubby for storage in the center. Replacing the out-of-date bottom molding with baseboard trim ensured that the piece no longer looked like the only home it had was in a bedroom.
Finally, trim around the open spaces, several coats of semi-gloss paint and new hardware finished the piece.
