Happy Thursday! Here is a simple weekend project.
I love wood signs! They can be very inexpensive and are easy to assemble. You can also make them to match any decor you want. To make one, you start with any width board you want. I would not go too thick. This might make the sign too heavy to hang. I use either pallet boards or 1×4′s. The first thing you want to do is cut them to the desired length.
The next step is to screw the boards together. I use a clamp to hold all of my boards together so they do not move while I’m screwing them together.
Take some wood strips, such as 1×1′s, and screw the boards together. I used a scrap piece of wood to make sure I was keeping the board even and straight. Lastly, start screwing your screws in. Be sure to pre-drill all of your holes.
Now, you are ready to make your one of a kind sign! I screw eye hooks into the 1×1′s and use Hercules hooks to hang mine. Here are few signs I have done.
