DIY Dresser Makeover

If you have a piece of furniture that is still useful but is dull and uninteresting, you know that you’ve walked by it for years without even really seeing it. Chris from justagirlblog took an old dresser and made it new and interesting again.

After you see how she did it, you’ll want to apply the same technique on a piece of furniture of your own. Chris gives us a complete supply list for this project, and you’ll be surprised at some of the materials she used. After she sanded the dresser, Chris brushed cooled tea onto the dresser. Although it looked like this didn’t do anything to the wood, after the tea solution dried, she applied white vinegar to the wood, and then the magic started. The wood turned a gray color which she actually toned down with a little walnut stain.

Finally, Chris painted the drawer fronts a chalky black and then wiped on some wax to seal the paint.
