DIY Child’s Nightstand

Do you have a child in your house whose accumulated books and stuffed animals are hidden under the bed? If this is true for you, then you’ll want to check out the tutorial by Jami from freckledlaundry on creating a fun and unusual nightstand for a child’s room.

Jami started with a wooden box with a hinged lid she found at an estate sale. Jami gives us a complete supply list for this project. The first step was to use a multi-purpose satin finish paint in several colors to paint the entire surface of the box. She then drilled scattered holes throughout the entire dark blue painted front of the box. The next step was to use a tiny brush to paint on small dots and stars across the blue front. Finally, Jami inserted each bulb from a string of LED twinkly lights into the holes she had drilled.

She secured the wires inside the box using a hot glue gun.
