DIY Child’s Desk From A Kitchen Cabinet

Do you know a child who loves arts and crafts? Rachel from shadesofblueinteriors made over an old kitchen cabinet into a child’s desk that is both beautiful and functional.

Rachel has provided a link to her tutorial for creating this unique desk. In the tutorial, there is a complete supply list which appears to be a long list, but you probably have many of the items on hand right now. Once the cabinet has been disassembled, the cabinet door face becomes the desk base. Holes are sawed into the drawer face of the cabinet which will later hold small buckets for art supplies. Before the desk is painted, feet are attached to the bottom so the desk can be placed on the floor or on a table.

As the child grows, the short legs can be replaced with longer ones as needed. The top of the desk is painted with a chalkboard paint making it even more fun to use.
