Jeanette from Country Design Style purchased a dresser from the thrift store for only $20.
While the bones were good, the veneer was in bad shape – bad in a good way though Jeanette says.
It was the perfect piece for Jeanette to practice a distressed painting technique inspired by Pottery Barn.
Jeanette simply painted on black chalk paint and then rubbed it in places with a paper towel.
I love that Jeanette built on the imperfections of the dresser to make it shine once again!
The original inspiration came from the weathered black finish on the Dawson Media Cabinet from Pottery Barn.

Thank you so much for featuring my super easy distressing technique! Sometimes highlighting the distress is the only way to go! Jeanette

Hey, the imperfections just add character, right? ;-)
