Our homes need to serve the function of the household. In the case of Sherry from No Minimalist Here she was missing a dining room. The previous owners had a wall in the dining room area that prevented the room from being used for entertaining.
They were using the room as an office. Sherry decided to have the wall removed to make room. A sidenote- please do not take a sledgehammer to a wall that is annoying you. It may be a load bearing wall and you will bring the whole house down if you remove it. Have a contractor look into removing the wall professionally.
After Sherry had the wall removed, she painted and had a new floor installed. With the addition of curtains and some molding added to the built-in bookcase, the whole room came together. A wonderful makeover of her dining room area will make this perfect for entertaining.
