Erin from Life in the Dub Lane loved the design of a “fancy” covered sandbox from Pottery Barn Kids. I am sure it’s no surprise that the $400 price tag was holding her back from bringing one home. Erin instead opted to devote a day to building her own for $65. Just because Erin’s DIY version cost $335 less doesn’t mean it’s lacking all the bells and whistles. Solid wood construction? Check! Fabric awning? Check! Patterned bunting? Check!
Erin was inspired by the retired Chesapeake Sandbox With Awning from Pottery Barn Kids.

Hi, I’m a doctoral Student at Appalachian State University working on my dissertation. I am studying craft practices among women and would LOVE it if you might participate. I have included a link below to a survey and description of my research. Please feel free to pass it on to other women artist/crafters who you know.
Thanks so much,
Emily Miller.

Nice. Very very nice. I was going to build a sandbox for my little ones but we may be moving soon, and I don’t want to have to up-root it. Ill keep this one in my “to-do” file. Very well done.
