Tufted benches make a beautiful addition to the traditional decor. Tufted benches can be expensive as Suzie from The Accent Piece found out when she saw a bench at Wisteria. After seeing the price, Suzie got to work and figured out how to make her own.
With good instructions and step by step pictures, she shows how she constructed her 19th century Napoleon style bench. The fabric should be home dec weight and the thread needed is called upholstery thread. A long doll needle will help you navigate through the foam and the fabric. All those items can be purchased at the local fabric store.
If you do not have the foam that Suzie uses, you will want to purchase the green high-density foam. It will last longer and is better quality. Suzie also shares how she mounted the leg hardware and attached the legs. This tufted bench project is well constructed and will look great in your traditional home decor.
